Scholastic Art Competition

The Scholastic Art Competition is a yearly competition that people around the nation take part in. People can submit writing or art to the competition, though there is a seven dollar fee per work submitted.

For art, they have many categories such as film and animation, photography, and ceramics. For the writing there is dramatic script, humor, poetry, and even personal essays and memoirs. You have to be 13 and older and in 7th-12th grade to enter the competition.

If you are a senior you are even eligible for a scholarship, but only if you meet the requirements of one of the categories. In each regional part of the competition the top three winners each get a key, 3rd gets a bronze, second a silver, and first a gold key. The person in first then goes on to have their work judged at the national level. So, if this interests you, feel free to do some more exploring at www.artandwriting.org, and you can even sign up here to submit your work if you want.
