Sewing is a great hobby to have both fun and useful, it has many uses. For the average person, sewing is excellent for mending, fitting, and even creating clothes. It’s also a relatively cheap option to thrift-flip clothes as opposed to buying new ones. In this ongoing series, I’m going to share little tips and tricks to get you started, as well as how to make a couple of things. But to start off let's just talk about the benefits of sewing. Sewing is a great, cost effective way to make clothes, bags, hats, etc. You can sew just about anything out of just about anything. Thrift-flipping is one of my favorite things to do with sewing. Finding clothes or random items at thrift stores is always super cheap and thrift flipping is a great way to alter clothes to your specific style. If you're looking to make something completely from scratch, bed sheets are a great way to get a lot of fabric for very little money. Additionally, with Halloween coming up, sewing is a great way to just add a little bit of flair to your outfit or even make it completely by yourself. Overall, sewing is a great skill to have. It comes in handy often and it is very rewarding to wear or use something you made yourself. Also being able to say you make your own clothes is a pretty big flex.
